Rose is a doula, doctoral student, and mother of two.
She received her training with DONA and is currently completing her certification as a Childbirth Educator With Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings.
With a Chaplaincy background, Rose has supported hundreds of families through life’s toughest moments. She’s worked in healthcare for the past five years offering emotional guidance, spiritual support, and patient advocacy to patients and families at numerous settings including Duke University Hospital, Emory Healthcare, and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. During her experience she intimately witnessed the maternal health disparities that exist for BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color). Doulas for Me was created so that the innate power that each birthing person possesses can be fully realized, and more importantly fully supported by a care team that will ensure that they have everything they need to holistically thrive.
Rose received her Masters of Divinity and a Graduate Certificate in Theology, Medicine and Culture from Duke University and a BA in Music from Birmingham-Southern College. She is currently pursuing doctoral work at Florida State University in Sociology where her research includes reproductive health inequities, race, and resistance strategies in minority communities. She is married to her college sweetheart, Andrew, where they reside outside of Tallahassee in Havana, FL. She spends much of her time loving on their two creative “Littles,” Anyah and Judah.
